The Final Bugatti Veyron has rolled of the production line

There’s bad news for the discerning billionaire looking to add another priceless sports car to their driveway, because Bugatti just confirmed that it has sold the last of the 450 Veyron models. Manufactured in Alsace France, the 450 Bugattis included 150 roadsters and 300 coupes, with the last one sold to a secret Middle Eastern customer. The final Veyron will be showcased in spring at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show alongside #001.

The Veyron has never failed to amaze with its staggering numbers, and has been in constant production for over 10 years. The kind of car where the car insurance premium is the last thing on your mind. This beast sprinted on the track, helped by 1106 lb ft of torque to achieve 62mph in just 2.5 seconds. President of Bugatti Automobiles – Wolfgang Duerheimer claims that the Veyron has helped the company create a legendary automobile and helped it achieve the world’s most exclusive supercar brand status. He further claims that there has been no other company that has been able to produce a vehicle that represents unique top of the line performance and exclusive luxury range in a comparable volume/price range.

Duerheimer says that the Veyron sets the benchmark for modern automobile design and is also an iconic piece of art. The first model made headlines when it was first released in 2005 with its 16 cylinder quad-turbo 8-litre pumping out a stupendous amount of power. The coupe lineup was then extended to roadster models, with Bugatti adding more powerful models such as the final Grand Sport Vitesse, Super Sport and Grand Sport.

The average price paid for a Veyron over its 10 year lifespan was $2.3 million Euros and although the demand for the vehicle is rather high, it is worth stating that Ferrari sold 499 of its new La Ferraris in just a few months. But it was not just Ferrari who was selling cars fast, McLaren also sold all its 375 P1 supercars in less time than the Bugatti. The Veyron held the title of the fastest ever production car until 2013, and the final version boasts a top speed of 267 MPH.

Called the Grand Sport Vitesse, this is not the last for the Bugatti Veyron badge as the company is looking to raise its performance benchmarks with a 280 MPH successor that will showcase hybrid technology and produce more than 1100 BHP. This new vehicle is due to debut in 2016 with production capped at 450 units. Called the Chiron, the 2016 model is claimed to be much more powerful than its predecessor, and will be equipped with quadruple electronically driven turbochargers mated with an insane 8.0-liter W16 engine and not one but TWO electric motors.

With regards to total drivetrain output, it is expected to be somewhere around an amazing 1500 horsepower with top speed to exceed 280 mph. But for now if you’re in the market for a 1200bhp stunner, you will have to wait for a year or so.
