The new Aston Martin built Specifically for Mr Bond

One of the notable characteristics of James Bond is his ability to blow up, crash and otherwise mangle the cars that probably take years to produce and build for him. But he will have to be more careful this time around as Aston Martin is only producing 10 new models for 007 for the latest sequel, Spectre. Named the DB10, the car was unveiled recently at the launch party of the film, where Daniel Craig will be playing the legendary spy for the fourth time, but don’t hold your breath as it us unlikely you will be able to get one even in the future and even if possible, expect car insurance premiums to be through the roof.

Aston Martin DB10

Aston Martin however is keeping the specifications of the vehicle on the down-low, which will not be sold but only designed exclusively for Spectre. Officials at Aston Martin say the DB10 sets the benchmark for future designs, and they’re keeping the car away from their competition to avoid replicating of its design and engineering. In addition, the crew and producers of Spectre have yet to reveal the gadgets the car will be outfitted with following the infamous onsite defibrillators, rocket launchers and ejector seats seen in previous models.

The manufacturer claims that it has worked closely with the director of Spectre – Sam Mendes to create a legendary vehicle for a legendary spy. It all started with Sean Connery driving the iconic DB5, and now its 50 years of 007’s use of an Aston Martin. CEO Andy Palmer – company CEO claims that it is great news for the company seeing fans from across the globe enthusiastic to see Bond behind the wheel of an Aston Martin. The first Aston Martin was driven by Sean Connery in the 1960’s followed by George Lazenby, who drove an Aston Martin on Her Majesty’s Secret Service, where the car was seen when the wife of the newly-married Bond was shot through the windshield of the vehicle.

Aston Martins were then featured in the film the Living Daylights, where Timothy Dalton drove a V8 Vantage Volante. The classic DB5 was then briefly showcased in the films Golden Eye and Tomorrow Never Dies in the 90s and Pierce Brosnan drove a V12 Vanguish in 2002, which had a high cloaking device to make the vehicle invisible in Die Another Day. But this will be Daniel Craig’s fourth ride in an Aston Martin, with the other three being a DB5 in Skyfall and the DB5 again with the DBS V12 in Quantum of Solace and Casino Royale.

Due to be released on November 6th this year, Spectre will feature Oscar winning actor Christopher Waltz, Italian star Monica Bellucci, Andrew Scott and Lea Seydoux alongside Craig. Named after a shadowy terrorist organization, Spectre was created by Bond author Ian Fleming, which was first showcased in his novel Thunderball. Spectre is being shot in several locations including Mexico City, London, Solden in Austria, and Morocco’s Tangier and Erfoud. Mendes states that all these places are amazing and he’s excited to visit them over the next few months. There are other brands that will appear in the latest James Bond flick including Jaguar Land Rover, Heineken, Bollinger, Sony Electronics, Omega and Sony Mobile.
